Junebesi (2580 m) is a sub-alpine zone hosts forests of firs, hemlock, rhododendrons, magnolia and birch. Throughout trek Dudh Kosi river valley with the view of Everest, Cho Oyu and Khumbila and fields of barley, wheat, corn and potatoes creates heavenly experience.
Another way to get Everest is flying Lukla. From where one can explore Phakding, Namche, Khumjung, Perhiche, Lobuche, Gokyo and Gorak Shep with sound facilities of accommodation. In spring rhododendrons blooms which give visual delight for visitors. Visitors are required entrance fees to enter Sagarmatha National Park. Musk Deer, Himalayan Tahr, Impehyan Peasant, snow pigeons, ravens are some wildlife which visitor can notice on the trail.
Namche Bazaar and Pheriche are two major points where visitor must take at least a day of rest for acclimatization. Thami Gompa in Thami and Khumjung Monastery are at the distance of single day hike from Namche along with Tengboche Monastery regarded as the religious center of Sherpas. Pheriche situated with the elevation of 4240 m with rugged and barren land. The alpine start from 3600 m well below Pheriche with Tundra and scrub Juipers. From Pheriche, visitor can make a climb Island Peak passing through Chukkung. From Pheriche another step is Lobuche (4930 m) with walk alongside Khumbu Glacier it has possibility to get encountered with snow leopard. It is said that here people encountered with Yeti too. With 4 hours treak from Lobuche visitor reaches Kala Pattar at 5545 m stopping at Gorak Shep. Kala Pattar is only such location from where Everest seems in its monumental and majestic display with entire Khumbu Glacier, Lho La, Everest Base Camp, Hillary’s Step, South Col and Changtse.
